Dict.cc is not only an online dictionary, it is also a platform where users from all over the world can share their knowledge in the field of translations. The goal of dict.cc is to make it possible to share your vocabulary knowledge with the world. This is the main difference from other translation services - every user is encouraged to contribute to the dictionary by adding and/or verifying English-German translation suggestions. The resulting vocabulary database can be downloaded, but please note that this is just a flat text file, not translation software (although the data might be usable for dictionary software).

Winehq - a translation layer
Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. It is a translation layer (a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems. Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other applications on your desktop. It does not require Microsoft Windows. Wine provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris. Wine is free software.
