The format known as Exchangeable Image File, or EXIF for short, is a widely used standard for storing exchange information in digital photography image files that employ JPEG compression. Most modern digital cameras incorporate the EXIF annotation, which records various details about the image, including shutter speed, exposure compensation, F number, metering system used, flash usage, ISO number, capture date and time, white balance, auxiliary lenses, and resolution.
