It's Christmas - and all over the South Tyrol, and especially in the homely town of Brixen, there is a wonderfully festive atmosphere. The aromas of glühwein, cinnamon and gingerbread spread through the town and tempt adults and children alike to relax and indulge themselves in cafés, restaurants and inns and at the Domplatz, which, with the 40 stalls at the Christmas market is at the heart of the magic of Advent. In Brixen during the Christmas market, there is a varied supporting programme on offer. Music groups, choirs, barrel organs, exhibitions, guided tours around the cathedral and cloister. You can download the program for free. Those interested in culture can round off the pleasant experience with a visit to the well-known Nativity Museum.
